Breakfast is an important meal as it breaks the long hours you have gone not eating while asleep. I don’t believe it has to be gigantic, but it has got to be something besides your coffee.
For your first meal, it is best to consume a combination of fat and protein. I am one for speed in the morning as there is so much to do and a few extra minutes of sleep can be precious.
Here is what I blend up:
- 2 Scoops of Vanilla Protein Powder (Dairy-free sourced from Peas)
- 1 cup of Cavalla Crio Bru
- 3/4 cup of ice
- 2 tablespoons of fresh ground flaxseeds or chia seeds
The Crio Bru is ground cacao beans that can be used as a coffee substitute, but I simply like the taste it gives my shake. There is no sugar in the product and it can be brewed via coffee maker or french press the night before to simply toss it in.
You can definitely use another protein powder you prefer and give it a shot. I like this one as it is very low in sugar, which allows me to doctor it a little bit.
