What is a naturopathic doctor?
Naturopathic doctors are primary care doctors trained at board-accredited 4-year graduate schools. Training includes clinical physical diagnosis, pathology, anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, botanical medicine, homeopathy, clinical nutrition, physical medicine, pharmacology, and more. Dr. Thalia is considered a family doctor and is able to treat a wide range of conditions.
Do you work with other practitioners?
Yes, Dr. Thalia is happy to work with your medical doctor, chiropractor, osteopath, acupuncturist, and more. If you have a medical team, she is honored to be a part of it!
Do you accept insurance?
She is a not provider for any insurance plan, but can be covered by health savings accounts (HSA) and flex savings accounts (FSA). Dr. Thalia will supply you with an invoice with proper medical codes that you may self submit to your insurance. Please contact your health insurance provider to understand the parameters of your coverage.
What forms of payment do you accept?
All major credit cards, cash and check are accepted.

The office is near Powell Street BART station and accessible to Union Square bus lines.
What do I expect at the first visit?
Naturopathic doctor visits are very thorough. Dr. Thalia will delve into your current complaint, your personal medical history, family medical history, social history (lifestyle factors like diet, stress, sleep, etc.), a general review of all body systems, and any pertinent physical exams. If you have any recent or relevant lab work or imaging, that is a great start. If not and lab work is necessary, she is happy help you with that process. The new patient intake form, HIPAA, and consent form are on this website for you to fill out prior to our visit. Visits are completely confidential and her goal is to make it a very positive experience.
What can I expect from a phone consultation?
Phone consultations can be booked for existing patients for uncomplicated circumstances. It is at the doctor’s discretion whether this option would be appropriate.
Who should I call if I have an emergency after hours?
In case of emergency, please call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency room or urgent care facility.
